For decades, the Rotary Club of Marion have hosted a heartwarming Christmas party at the Community Building, welcoming deserving children from all elementary schools in McDowell County. This cherished tradition brings joy and holiday cheer to young hearts in our community.
Kindergarten and first-grade students from across McDowell's elementary schools gather at the Marion Community Building for a day filled with festive delights. Amidst the merry atmosphere, children enjoy a delightful lunch provided by Countryside Catering and participate in a joyful singalong of Christmas carols played on the piano.
The highlight of the day arrives when Santa Claus makes a grand entrance, arriving in a Marion Fire Department firetruck to the children's delight. With excitement in the air, the children get to share their wishes with Santa and receive gift totes filled with presents generously provided by the Rotary Club. It's a magical experience that warms the hearts of all involved and embodies the spirit of giving during the holiday season.
