Small Grant Application Form

 

The Rotary Club of Marion is dedicated to supporting the vital work of non-profit and service organizations in McDowell County. Through its Small Grants Program, the club aims to empower local initiatives that align with its core values of community service and welfare.

Grants range from $500 to $1,500 and are specifically designated for projects that advance:

  • Health and human or animal welfare
  • Community resource development
  • Education or youth programs

Requests are carefully considered by the Small Grants Committee according to established criteria and available funds. The Rotary Club of Marion provides notices each year for available funding cycles.

During the most recent funding cycle, the Rotary Club of Marion proudly awarded small grants to several deserving organizations in the community:

  • McDowell County Sheriff's Department: Funding of Summer Camp for 13 kids
  • East Marion Pentecostal Holiness Church: "Help Thy Neighbor" Program
  • McDowell County EMS: Funding to provide secure lockboxes for aged or medically fragile adults as part of the 911 system
  • Care Reach: Funding for upgrades to the kitchen of Impact Recovery Community that provides support and resources for addiction
  • Mercy Fund Animal Rescue: Funding for veterinary care for sick animals
  • Comfort Quilts: Funding for supplies to continue the ministry of providing quilts to distressed or abused children
  • Friends of Lake James State Park: Funding of a water engineering and aquatic ecology activities to provide educational opportunities to underserved McDowell County families
  • McDowell County Cooperative Extension: Funding for a nutritional program aimed at improving healthy behaviors of limited resource youth

 

The Small Grants Program exemplifies the club's commitment to collaboratively working to make a positive impact in McDowell County!
