Earbuds

The Rotary Club of Marion members distributed 3,000 individually packaged earbuds in sets of 200 for each of McDowell County's 15 public schools. Providing this resource ensures equitable access for students in need--allowing the principals and school counselors a resource to do so.

Recognizing the pivotal role of earbuds in modern education, the Rotary Club of Marion prioritized this project in response to educators' concerns about students frequently losing this essential tool. As digital learning becomes increasingly prevalent across all age groups, earbuds have transitioned from a luxury to a necessity in the classroom.

In a departure from traditional school supply donations, 2023 President Richard Berlick and local school officials collaborated to prioritize earbuds as a critical learning resource. This decision underscores the Rotary Club's commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible education for all students in McDowell County.
